Ok! So, after having watched High School of the Dead: www.gogoanime.com/highschool-of-the-dead-episode-1
I have once again become crazy about zombie survival. Cuz you know with the state of the world it's bound to happen. That being the case tell me your zombie survival strategy. Things to include: use of weapons, holdout locations, beginning, middle, and endgame strategies for survival. Cuz as we all know, heading to the local supermarket and home appliance store aint gonna help for shit when you have thousands of people all with the same idea. I'll start with mine and hopefully this thread will get more attention than my past ones. *COUGH COUGH*
I suppose we should establish what kind of zombie attack this will be. Being that I just watched High Dead, we'll go with that; slow moving and blind but super strong and responds to sound. Transmits through biting. Rule #4: Double
Beginning game, first outbreak: As the infection predictably cascades from the large coastal cities to my town in the Midwest, finally a reason to live in fucking Wisconsin, panic will most likely ensue as there are no contingency plans for zombie attack. Hell we didn't even have a plan for when our one major interstate was closed down two years ago due to massive levels of snow. AND WE LIVE IN WI FOR FUCKS SAKE!
Rioting will occur as people try to stock up on supplies and fend for themselves. Little by little zombies will make their way into town.
I live in the outskirts of town, where all the farm fields are. Probably shouldn't count on them like in I am Legend to from a sort of colony, building a huge wall around the land and whatnot. Weapons are another matter. I'm too poor to afford guns and being that everyone else and the grandmothers going to be looking to get a hold of guns and ammo, might be shit out of luck their. Home made weapons might work but I'd like to hear what you guys think would work in that department. Stocking up on food is imperative and shouldn't be too much of a problem in the beginning, it's later on that's the problem. Still haven't decided if the majority of citizens will be leaving or staying, but we do have quite a lot of old people, so I'm thinking 50-50 chance of almost complete desertion or no one leaving at all.
Midgame, Day 5?: I guess it would be lucky that I live smack dab in the center of the us, because if the outbreak hasn't reached full swing here, it's probably about to. Supplies would still be good, but in the event that very few people leave this will be more difficult in time with no one shipping food. I forgot to mention that we are a HUGE hunting town. I mean huge. Once hunter's season started the gas station I work at suffered tremendous losses in people count, and it's only been a week or so. If the town leaders get their act together quickly we would definitely form some kind of Anti Zombie force, a kind of neighborhood watchers if you will.
Endgame, day 10+: Outbreak in full swing: people dying left and right, Zombie Squad did what they could but it wasn't enough. Running out of boolets for tiny baby zombies. Food stocks are out, and going out doors is now dangerous. Water, electricity, heat, all that stuff has probably gone out as no one will be working at their respective plants and generators anymore. We got 99 problems and not being a first world country anymore is one of them. Securing food now is almost impossible. Hunting is out of the question as no one in my family knows how to hunt. Might have to actually start relying on farmers now for food. Or turn our half acre or so property into a garden/farm. Pretty much the same ending as any half assed Apocalypse movie out there. Ride the storm out and wait for things to get better. Question is how long till that happens or will it ever?
