So, apparently Retro is helping design some of the Mario Kart 3DS tracks, Skyward Sword is shaking things up slightly and has some interesting overworld mechanics (I think?), and Pikmin 3 has officially been moved to the WiiU. Also some new details about Luigi's Mansion 2 and Super Mario 3D, specifically pertaining to the Tanooki suit.
Interesting roundtable as always I suppose. Shame still no sight of Pikmin 3 but good to hear it's really being refined and focused on by the team.

Nintendo was stupid not to show all of this Honestly. Goddamn. The later stuff with the weather is really crazy. www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=433089ATI confirms "modern, custom" graphics card. It's from a series that features "multiple display support." When did ATI start supporting that? 5000 series cards. It was rumored the Wii U would use a 4000 series card. 5000 series is a significant jump, adding in a tesselator and directx11 stuff. Basically, the CPU was a chunk of Watson, and the GPU is a fucking DX11 card. SUDDENLY FULL GENERATION JUMP. For you Nvidia kids (such as myself) this means something close to the 460-480 level. maybe 500 level (like...560). In contrast, the PS3 uses a glorified 7600GT, and the 360 uses an X1900 (~7800GT?)

IGN Nintendo confirmed that Retro only did one stage in Mario Kart. And it wasn't track design, it was just providing them with Donkey Kong Country Returns Assets. wii.ign.com/articles/117/1174592p1.htmlConfirmed to be there: -Exclusive Assassin's Creed for Wii U (not a port of any existing game, or Revelations) -Another Ubisoft game...I think. Some are saying it's an FPS. Likely: Online strategy

Really?

...no I meant the online strategy for the system. Not a game. Anyway, Killer Freaks From Outer Space was revealed, and it's a wacky, gory FPS that has 4 player co-op. It also controls really weird (but can control like a standard game as well, since splitscreen with a classic controller pro was shown) in that it uses dual sticks, but quick turns or something can be done by moving the controller itself. IF it's just a flip up, that sounds pretty ok to me. 180 degree turns on consoles typically take a lot longer than a mouse. Anyhoo, was described as arcade-y. Ubisoft also mentioned the system has a lot more RAM than they're used to working with, but the kits aren't finished and they've only been working on it for a few months. Like, not very long at all. Ubisoft kept stressing that it was early. Really early, probably should-not-have-been-shown early. Sounds interesting enough. Looking forward to see how it progresses. There was a GAF meltdown about the graphics, despite the fact that they stressed early so hard and to put "early" on the pictures, so here's a 360 launch title for comparison after it was finished, and not early.

It's about fucking time!
I wonder if they'll be updating the 3DS firmware to support this as well once Wii U is out.

lol, I doubt it. Though the 3DS just has one system friend code, not codes for individual games.

Yeah, but it would still be better to have the same account/friends list for both systems. Worst thing about the PSP IMO is no friends list. LOVE that the PSVita will have your friends list.

Too bad that my PSP wouldn't be able to do anything with a friendslist anyway considering it's hacked

www.next-gen.biz/news/wii-u-dev-kits-underclockedEvery demo, inlcuding the bird demo and the Zelda thing, were on underclocked development kits. Nintendo pulled several third party games that didn't look good enough from their E3 conference because they didn't look considerably better than 360 games. ...And then they showed 360 footage at their press conference of like 15 games.

Considering their original DS kits were GBA's with two screens and a SNES controller, this doesn't surprise me that much.
I mean, a portable SNES vs a portable N64 that the system became. Wonder how big the jump will be here.
