and Move. So, you need a new TV, glasses, and Move to really experiencee what they're dishin' out here.
Oh, and playstation plus. Think Xbox Live. Well, with discounts. It's not forced, so it's just basically "Pay $50 a month and you'll get some free games and discounts while subscribed. You'll lose them though if you bail!"

Gotta disagree with you there Jonny, I thought Sony has a really good conference. WAY better than MS who spend about 15 minutes on core titles and used the rest of the time to talk about Kinect, casuals and fitness.
There was no way Sony wasn't going to talk about 3D. Sony as a company has a lot invested in 3D from their other departments and they are trying to push 3D and their 3D TVs and blu-ray players. But, Sony only spent what, 15 or 20 minutes focusing on 3D. After that initial segment, they would just mention 3D when the game they were talking about was going to include it.
And with 3D, they aren't really shoving it down our throats.. It's just an additional option for those who are already getting on board with 3D tech.
Then they went into Move, which I thought was going to end the conference. But they only spent about 20 minutes on that as well, and mostly went into more "core" games. Outside of mentioning the "casual gamer", they showcased very little casual titles.
Heavy hitters like Metal Of Honor, Killzone 3, inFamous 2, Dead Space 2 got plenty of focus including EA's devotion and lots of exclusive content. Pushing the PSP FINALLY, though I don't care for that Marcus kid.. lol
Lots of "core" games that will include Move controls in addition to traditional controls, and some current games getting "Move" updates when it launches. Launch dates for Move and GT5 (and I KNOW there are a ton of GT fans saying FINALLY to that).
TRON in 3D AND with Move.
Move is being added to a lot of games, as an option, which is good IMO.
LBP2 looks sweet!
And did I mention, TWISTED FUCKING METAL!!!!!!! OMG!!!! I've been SO waiting for a new TM for PS3!!! And it looks pretty fuckin sweet to me! A twisted take on Capture The Flag could be fun.
Can't wait for the new PSP games, God Of War and The Third Birthday (Parasite Eve spin off or something).
I don't care about a lot of those games, but they are still big titles. And the ones that I do like are SWEET!
Oh, and isn't Portal 2 that game you all play on the PC?

I agree with Distant, Sony had a really good conference. It was pretty boring at first, but as soon as Kevin Butler got up there, I couldn't stop laughing. That guy is really funny.
The first game they used to show off the Move, Sorcery, was really awesome looking.
Portal 2 FTW. Gabe Newell saying it will be the best console version kind of came out of nowhere.

Soaking in the whole "Move" thing, I don't think it's going to sell very well. Not if people think about it first. Don't get me wrong, I think it LOOKS good, and I do have faith in it's accuracy and developers using it well. It's just too expensive.
PS Eye: $40 Main Controller: $50 Sub/Nav Controller: $30
There is a bundle that is PS Eye, Main Controller, and their version of Wii Sports Resort (so to speak) that is $100. Notice, the bundle does NOT include the Sub controller.
Now, say you buy the bundle. One of the games is Archery. In order to play Archery, you have to have TWO of the "Main" controllers. Boxing will be the same way, but that is a different game. However, I believe the "Gladiator" game will be part of that "Sports" game and that too uses two "Main" controllers.
There's $150 right there, on top of the $300 console.
Oh, but if you want to play those games with two players, there's another two "Main" controllers. Another $100, brining Move up to $250 on top of the $300 console. And so far we haven't bought any "Sub" controllers...
Throw in two sub controllers, an extra $60 for a total of $310 on top of the $300 console. So a "family" looking to get into the Move and PS3 itself (if they don't have a PS3 already) that's $610, with only one game to play...
And with that $610 purchase, you're only going to get 4 players on games that only require one "Main" controller. You can't even do 4 players if the game requires the sub, since we've only bought 2 of those in this scenario.
So let's say we want to play 4 players for games that requrie the sub controller. Another $60, for a total of $370 for the Move and $300 for the PS3. We still only have one game... Add tax and I'd say we're looking at about $700 all together so far...
That just seems like a lot of money to me, a father of 3 in a family of 5.

Kevin Butler was great. That being said, I still think it ranged from mediocre to an average conference, and as an owner of both a PSP and PS3, I was left bored. Sly Cooper bundle soudns hot though. I actually turned off the conference because I just wasn't feeling it...and I had to go to work. That was a good hour and 15 minutes or so into it though, so I think I got most of it. And yes, it's really expensive. Kind of a boner kill when I want to play Killzone 3 and SOCOM 4 with the Move. And maybe Heroes of Move, though that's mostly for Sly. I was really surprised there wasn't a PSP2 announcement though. As a more recent owner of the system, I'm sorta happy about that, especially with the 3DS coming out and I KNOW I'll be picking that up ASAP after Nintendo's conference...and seeing the screenshots of MGS in realtime. Holy shit they made MGS3 even more stunning...in 2D pictures. Can't wait to see it in 3D after people were saying it's a really good use of it. Oh, and we all play TF2 on PC. Valve makes that as well Portal 2 is another game I'll be getting on PC, because, well, It'll run better, look better, and control better on my PC. Good to hear that Valve decided to stop whining about the PS3 and suddenly get hugely on board with it though. Steamworks on consoles? Hell yes. Good news for PS3 owners right there, with allowing custom content. I wouldn't be TOO surprised to see the Left 4 Dead games hit PS3. So, while it was better than the piece of garbage that was Microsoft's and Ubisoft's conferences, it really just didn't compare to Nintendo's for me. I'm not TOO into the Move, which was the focus, so that makes sense.

Playstation Plus looks interesting: us.playstation.com/playstation-plus/Full Game Trials - A great way to try before you buy - play a game for up to one hour, then purchase the game to unlock your trophies and continue your progress. If that is what it sounds like, I may subscribe JUST for that. No more having to rely on developers to release demos... As for Move, I'm hoping after laggin sales in the first few months, they'll lower the price and/or offer better bundles... lol
